عرض طالب أمريكي رسالة مكتوبة بخط الرئيس الأمريكي باراك أوباما للبيع ليتمكن من تسديد تكاليف دراسته الجامعية.
كان الطالب جيسي غرينجر قد كتب رسالة للرئيس الأمريكي أوباما عام 2011، ضمّنها نبذة عن حياته. وحسب قول الطالب، فهو في الثالثة عشرة من العمر، صار يتيما بعد وفاة المرأة التي تبنته. انتقل جيسي بعد ذلك من عائلة الى أخرى خلال السنوات الأربع التالية، وبعد أن زهق العيش مع مدمني الكحول والمخدرات والمستغلين، قرر البدء بحياة جديدة كي لا يصبح مثل المحيطين به.
كتب جيسي في رسالته لأوباما يقول "في اليوم الذي أكملت السابعة عشرة من العمر، غادرت البيت وأنا أحمل حقيبة فيها بعض الكتب والملابس وإنجيل والدتي، وبدأت رحلتي التي غيّرت كل حياتي".
سعد الفتى عندما تبنته عائلة في كارولينا الجنوبية، حيث أنهى الدراسة في معهد متوسط وقبل في الجامعة، وكان عليه تسديد أجور الدراسة. لكن المبلغ الذي كان بحوزته يقلّ عن المبلغ المطلوب بـ 10 آلاف دولار.
طلب جيسي في رسالته من الرئيس أوباما مساعدته في تحقيق حلمه.
كتب أوباما في جوابه لجيسي بعد أن شكره على رسالته "أفضل نصيحة يمكن أن اقدمها لك هي أن تنهي دراستك، أنا فخور بك".
الآن بعد مضي ثلاث سنوات على هذه الرسالة اضطر جيسي لعرض رسالة الرئيس أوباما المكتوبة بخط يده للبيع بمبلغ 9.5 ألف دولار ليتمكن من تغطية مصاريف دراسته.
